How to Install a SEAFLO Marine Bilge Blower

How to Install a SEAFLO Marine Bilge Blower

Gasoline engine compartments can accumulate fuel vapors in the bilge. A marine blower ventilates the space before ignition — a core ABYC safety practice.

Why Blowers Matter

SEAFLO in-line blowers move 130–270 CFM at under 45 dB, pulling vapors through ducting to a deck vent.

Hose Size & CFM

Match blower inlet/outlet to hose diameter (3" or 4"). Larger hose reduces restriction and improves effective CFM on long duct runs.

Mounting Tips

Mount the in-line blower in accessible ducting, oriented for airflow arrow direction. Use marine-grade hose clamps and support long duct spans.

Pre-Start Checklist

Run the blower for at least four minutes before engine start on gasoline inboards and sterndrives. Label switches clearly at the helm.
